S1 - S2| End of Year Holiday & Semester 1 Registration Now Open!

At the end of Secondary 2, all students in Singapore’s government secondary schools face an important decision — whether to take A-Math. A-Math is not only a compulsory subject for JC A-Level H2 Mathematics, but also a prerequisite for admission to science and engineering-related courses at university. Our Secondary 2 curriculum is carefully designed with this in mind.

Student Achievements & Parent Voices

1. Achievement Highlights

Since Kangaroo Study set up in Singapore, our secondary students have shone at the SMO (Junior) for three years in a row.
In 2025, nearly 4,000 students took part, with only 118 making it to the second round — 50 of them from Kangaroo Study. That’s just 2% of total participants contributing a remarkable 42% of all qualifiers!
We had 5 students in the Top 10, 15 in the Top 30 (half the list), and 17 selected for the Junior Training Team, including 12 from S1. On top of that, one student once again made it into Singapore’s IMO National Team — and brought home another gold medal!

2. Trusted by Parents
Here’s what parents have to say about our secondary curriculum and teaching team. Many told us their children enjoy the lessons, have developed a real love for maths, and seen a big jump in results. Every bit of encouragement fuels us to keep making our courses even better.

What are the differences between E-Math and A-Math?

(1) A-Math: Less Time, More Contents
As clearly shown in the diagram below, E-Math already covers a large amount of content; it has 34 sub topics. Although there is some overlap between E-Math and A-Math, A-Math also includes 17 entirely new topics. Students have only two years to learn all of this, and during those two years, they are still required to study E-Math as well.

(2) A-Math: Same Topic, Much Deeper
In addition to the new topics, E-Math and A-Math share some overlapping topics. However, even for these overlapping areas, A-Math often explores the concepts at a deeper level. For example, the two questions below are both about circles. E-Math focuses on basic geometric properties of circles, while A-Math goes further by expressing these properties using algebraic ways.

Not only for Circles, but as shown in the table below, for shared topics, A-Math often builds upon and extends the concepts learned in E-Math.

(3) Misunderstanding in E-Math, Major Problems in A-Math
As mentioned, some topics in A-Math builds on E-Math topics. If students don’t fully understand E-Math, especially key Secondary 2 topics like quadratic equations and factorisation, they’ll struggle with certain topics in A-Math. The test paper below shows a Secondary 3 student still having trouble with expanding quadratic equations, which highlights this issue.

Prepare Well for S3, Learn Early, Learn Deeply

Because A-Math covers many new topics but in a limited time, the first thing we need to do is to learn early. Only by starting early can students identify which areas they struggle with. This gives them enough time to work through their difficulties, so they won’t feel rushed or overwhelmed later on.

Since A-Math often tests topics at a deeper level, it’s not just about learning early — it’s also about learning deeply. Students need to not only know what each concept is, but also understand the logic behind it and how it can be extended. This way, they’ll be much more confident and prepared when facing the O-Level exam.

To achieve this, we will make full use of the upcoming holiday to thoroughly cover the entire first-half of the Secondary 2 syllabus and build on it with in-depth extensions. This will help students score full marks in Secondary 2 mathematics and lay a strong foundation for future A-Math learning.

Semester 2 Class Arrangements
To help every student make full use of the holidays, our programme is offered in separate periods.
The content is the same across all periods, students only need to register for one.

To help students get ready for A-Math in Secondary 2, we will start focusing on algebra during the year-end holiday course. Key topics include simultaneous equations, factorisation, inequalities, quadratic equations, quadratic functions, and direct/inverse proportion. We will cover the basic foundation of all topics in the first 7 chapters in the textbook.

Each term offers flexible scheduling to meet different students’ needs. The current course schedule is specially arranged for Kangaroo Study’s existing students, who will enjoy priority registration until 11:59 PM on August 24 (Sunday). After this date, registration will be open to all students.

We encourage our current students to register early to secure their spot in class.

Led by Two Experienced Teachers

The S1 math programme is taught by two lead instructors, Teacher Wenlong and Teacher Jeremiah, both of whom have extensive experience and strong track records in guiding students at different levels. They are known for their clear explanations, effective teaching styles, and ability to personalise lessons based on students’ needs.

Teacher Zhang has insights into interacting with children of various age groups. And Teacher Zhang advocates for guided teaching, encouraging children to think independently and find problem-solving approaches, thus fostering their own logical thinking skills.

How To Enroll?

Students who have previously enrolled in the S1 course may register for the corresponding S2 class. Promotion to a higher-level class will be based on final exam results and a subsequent test. New students must first take an entrance test first.

Enrolment Process

1.     Book an entrance test (based on your child’s needs)

2.     Receive assessment results and class recommendation

3.     Confirm time slot and teacher, complete registration and payment
