P3-P4 | End of Year Holiday & Semester 1 Registration Now Open!

Why Parents Choose Kangaroo Study ?
1. Achievement Highlights
Since Kangaroo Study has established its presence in Singapore, our P4 to P6 students have consistently achieved outstanding results in various primary school mathematics Olympiads across Singapore. Many students have actively participated in competitions such as NMOS, APMOPS, and RMO, performing exceptionally well. Between 2023 and 2025, they earned numerous Gold and Platinum awards, with many advancing to the finals and one even claiming the top spot nationwide.

2. Feedback from Parents
Here are some genuine feedback from parents about our P3 and P4 teachers. Their engaging classes have earned widespread praise. Many parents shared that their children enjoy learning here, have developed a strong interest in mathematics, and have shown significant improvement in their performance. Every word of encouragement serves as our motivation to continually refine and enhance our courses.

What Will Students Learn in P4?
For students moving into P4, the GEP selection stage is over — this is the golden period to begin serious Olympiad Math training. After three years of schooling, students already have solid comprehension and calculation skills, making them ready to dive into the foundational content of various Olympiad modules. Learning these core concepts not only equips them to solve many classic, engaging problems, but also sparks deeper interest in math and builds essential thinking skills for future competition success. At the same time, this stage is crucial for strengthening mastery of fractions and decimals, which are heavily tested in both competitions and the PSLE.

Many parents find that their child’s competition results plateau because their learning process is fragmented. A common approach is: “Sign up for a competition, then just drill past papers.” This leads to: Shallow understanding of concepts. Inability to apply knowledge to new problem variations. Endless repetition without genuine improvement — progress relying heavily on innate talent. Olympiad math is not like swimming or cycling, where short-term practice is enough to master the skill. Instead, it’s a complete, interconnected curriculum covering 7 major modules. Many topics build on each other, requiring several years of structured learning.

Only by progressing from the basics to more advanced concepts, with the level of difficulty gradually increasing, can children truly achieve flexible mastery of knowledge. P4 is the pivotal stage in the Olympiad Math system — during this year, the core knowledge of all major modules will be introduced. It is both a crucial period for solidifying the foundation and a starting point for tackling higher-level problem types.

Under Kangaroo.Study’s structured learning framework, combined with our “teaching to understand the principles” approach, children will not only be able to apply knowledge flexibly, but also achieve twice the results with half the effort in Olympiad Math competitions. From calculation to number theory, and then to geometry, each module will see fresh advancements and breakthroughs.

1. Calculation – Starting from Zero
P4 marks the expansion from whole numbers into decimals and fractions — formats heavily tested in competitions and PSLE. We ensure students fully understand fractional and decimal operations, then reinforce them through ample practice.

2. Number Theory – Core Analytical Methods
Students learn essential methods like place value principles and two key perspectives on numbers: factors & multiples, primes & composites. These become the entry point for tackling even complex number theory problems.

3. Geometry – Extending & Deepening Skills
After mastering basic shapes and area in P3, students now learn common competition models such as equal-area transformations and the half model. We also cover problem-solving strategies like formula-based, partition-based, and “whole minus empty space” methods — building strong spatial and modeling skills.

How Do We Help Students Excel in Mathematical Thinking?
1.Teaching Through Models
Ourteachers identify problem types based on key characteristics, and then teach the corresponding solving strategies—forming “models” that guide students incorrectly applying the methods they’ve learned.

2.Guided Discovery
Insteadof simply providing answers, our teachers encourage students to think forthemselves, pinpoint the crux of the problem, and derive conclusions independently—helping them understand not just what works, but why it works.

3.Sparking Interest
We integrate real-life examples into lessons to demonstrate how mathematics applies in everyday contexts. By using guided problem-solving, we allow students to experience the satisfaction of conquering challenges themselves. This builds intrinsic motivation, making them eager to learn.

4.Building Good Study Habits
Throughdaily homework feedback, regular progress reviews, and parent-teacher meetings, our teachers help students develop consistent review habits and effective problem-solving methods—achieving more with less effort.

Course Outline
To ensure that children can make the most of their holiday time, our courses are scheduled in three separate sessions. Each session covers the same content, so students only need to enroll in one session without attending multiple times.
