Kangaroo Study’s Holiday Classes Have Started! Time for a New Adventure!
Kangaroo Study's End-of-Year Holiday classes has officially started this Saturday (22 November)! This term, we will be offering Mathematics programmes for students from K2 to S1, guiding them from core concepts to advanced problem-solving.
Our classes have always been well-loved by both parents and students. Every sincere piece of feedback motivates us to keep improving and delivering better lessons.
01 First Lesson: Setting the Right Pace for a New Term
In the very first lesson of this new term, our teachers didn't rush into teaching new topics. Instead, they focused on helping students establish an overall learning rhythm first: How to prepare; How to think; How to stay consistent week by week.
Students received their lesson materials and correction books for the new term. Teachers once again explained how to use the correction book and guided students through the full learning process: from weekly pre-class preparation and in-class practice, to after-class corrections and homework submission. Every step came with clear expectations to help students maintain a steady learning pace throughout the coming weeks!
Teachers also briefed both students and parents on the term's schedule and key learning areas, ensuring everyone is aware of the upcoming content and weekly progression.
Meanwhile, many parents chose to sit in during the first lesson, taking notes on the teacher's explanations. Others even stayed behind after class to speak with teachers about their child's learning experience and adjustment process. This level of parental support made the first lesson smoother and gave students a strong start to the new term.

03 Kangaroo Study's Teaching Principles & Key Features
Many new parents often wonder: What makes Kangaroo Study's lessons so different? Our uniqueness doesn't come from a single practice, but from a coherent teaching philosophy that guides everything we do. Here's what defines our classroom culture:
1) Guiding, Not Pushing
Rather than giving students the answers immediately, our teachers guide them through questions, prompts, and logical breakdowns. Students learn to think independently in identifying problems, testing ideas, and forming their own understanding. The goal is not just to “get the answer right,” but to truly understand why it’s right. Here, every misconception is an opportunity to rebuild understanding and every question is a starting point for growth.
2) No Understanding, No Leaving
Our lessons never end at simply teaching. In-class quizzes help teachers quickly identify students' misconceptions, and after class, teachers stay back to assist with corrections and answer all remaining questions, until every child fully understands. Our "No Understanding, No Leaving" principle ensures a;l learning is absorbed and solidified.
3) Sense of Achievement
We prioritise positive reinforcement. Our teachers encourage attempts, recognise achievements and growth, and facilitate safe spaces for students to try again if they make mistakes. This supportive environment helps students develop confidence and discover that Mathematics can be both challenging and enjoyable!
4) Nine-Step Teaching Method
Every class at Kangaroo Study is supported by our structured, nine-step learning system that bridges in-class learning with after-class practice.
In class, students begin with a before-class test to assess revision of previous topics, followed by homework review, new topic explanations, an after-class test, and corrections on the spot.
After class, students are to redo key questions, explain selected questions to their parents, complete after-class practice and daily practices to effectively transform what they have learned into long-term mastery.
5) Parents Can Sit In
Parents are welcome to sit in at the back of the classroom to better understand our teaching approach and their child's learning habits! They may also speak with teachers after class to provide feedback or ask questions, so we can support each child's progress together.
04 Entrance Test Process
All students are required to take an entrance test before registering for our lessons. This allows our team to assess the child's current level and recommend the most suitable class.
The Enrolment Process is as follows:
- Book a placement test (based on your child's needs)
- Receive assessment results and class recommendation
- Confirm time slot and teacher, complete registration and payment
