2026 P5 NMOS Comprehensive Half Year Study Plan Seminar & Mock Exam Have Successfully Concluded
  
To better support students in preparing for 2026 NMOS, we organized not only the NMOS Mock Exam to help students identify knowledge gaps, accurately assess their current level, and set clear goals, but also NMOS Comprehensive Half Year Study Plan Seminar to provide structured and scientific guidance for effective preparation toward their target results.
  
  
1. Event Recap

9:00 AM – Mock Exam Begins
Students arrived at the exam venue and were guided by teachers to take their seats in an orderly manner.The exam hall was well-organized, and the mock exam started on time.

9:00 AM – Chinese & English Seminars Begin
To accommodate the needs of more parents, this seminar was conducted in two parallel sessions:

- Chinese session by Teacher Gao Xuming

- English session by Teacher Yijie
Parent participation was highly enthusiastic in both sessions.
  
The seminar was divided into four main parts:
(1) NMOS Basic Information
The session began with an introduction to NUSH, the organizer of NMOS, followed by a comprehensive review of essential NMOS background information.
  
(2) Half Year Study Plan
How can students work toward achieving a Gold Award and reaching their personal goals?
The teachers focused on the Geometry and Word Problem, which account for the largest proportion of exam questions and are commonly regarded as the most challenging. Practical and effective strategies were shared to address these key areas.
During this segment, many parents took notes or photos attentively, not wanting to miss any important points.




(3) Case Studies and Tips From Top Students
Based on the experiences of our past top performers, our teachers highlighted two key factors for doing well in Math Olympiad.
First, students need to think actively, ask questions, and approach teachers with their own ideas and doubts, while reflecting and summarising what they’ve learned. Second, they must practise regularly and revise consistently. Math Olympiad isn’t just about understanding — it also requires memory, and repeated practice is the key to truly mastering it.
  
(4) Follow-Up Plan
This mock exam and seminar mark only the beginning. A series of NMOS preparation activities will follow to continuously support students in achieving strong NMOS results.


11:20 AM – Seminar Concludes
After the seminar, parents received the 2026 P5 Geometry Essential Handbook – “Geometry Mastery Toolkit”.


Key Features of Geometry Mastery Toolkit:

1.14 geometry topics, fully covering all NMOS geometry test points.
2.Learn-and-practice integration: Each topic includes detailed explanations and worked examples, followed by three progressive practice questions from basic to advanced.
3.Video support: Selected challenging questions are paired with video explanations for on-demand learning.

As the event came to an end, many parents stayed on to speak with Teacher Gao Xuming and Teacher Yijie, raising follow-up questions and seeking personalized advice to better plan their children’s mathematics learning and NMOS preparation journey.

Exam results and detailed solutions will be sent via private message to parents of participating students by January 9, 11:59 PM.
