Deep Dive into Algebra: Mastering Key Techniques for Solving Secondary 1 Algebra Problems Have you ever learned about the four essential algebra question types in Secondary 1 exams? Do you know how important Secondary 1 algebra is for your entire secondary school math journey? After the March holidays, students will start Term 2, where many will begin learning algebra. Algebra is crucial for secondary school math for three reasons: - Algebra makes up 60% of the Secondary 1 end-of-year exam in most schools.
- Algebra accounts for around 60% of the O-Level exam.
- Algebra covers 50% of the content in difficult exams like the SMO.
Secondary 1 algebra is particularly crucial for the entire study of algebra in secondary school because it lays the foundation for all future algebra studies. Mastering the basics will prepare students for more advanced topics. To assist everyone in understanding the logic behind algebraic concepts and the principles behind each formula, we will be holding a free workshop. During this session, we will focus on the four most common types of problems in Secondary 1 algebra, helping participants grasp the key techniques for solving algebraic problems effectively. Teacher Jeremiah Ang (Lesson in English): - Jeremiah Ang is a talented and experienced mathematics education expert, currently serving as the Head of Primary to Secondary School Transition and Teaching Supervisor at Kangaroo.Study. - Growing up in Singapore, he has a deep and practical understanding of the local education system and is adept at identifying difficulties commonly faced by students in the various learning stages. Teacher Zhang Wenlong (Lesson in English): - Graduated from Beijing Foreign Studies University with a major in English. During high school, Teacher Zhang participated in math competitions and received awards. Throughout the university years, he gained extensive teaching experience as a teaching assistant, particularly in mathematics and English. - Teacher Zhang has insights into interacting with children of various age groups.
