One Exam to Precisely Assess Your Sec 1 Learning Progress
How much of the content learned in the semester 1 do the children still remember? Which knowledge points are more frequently tested in the EOY exam paper? Will be tested in what kind of way? How to manage time in such a large-scale exam?
With less than two months to the Sec 1 EOY exam, many parents have the questions mentioned above. Actually, students will face many challenges.
1. Very Limited Time to Review Important Topics Since many schools are still finishing new content, students have only about one month to revise past topics. In that short time, they must review not only Mathematics but also other subjects. Yet, Semester 1 topics like Algebra are the main focus of the EOY exam, often making up about 60% of the paper. This means students have very limited time but many key topics to cover.
2. No Proper Materials to Check the Learning Progress Another challenge is that students often lack good ways to check how well they understand earlier topics. Past exercises help, but school worksheets are usually much easier than exam questions. This makes it hard for students to know their true level of mastery.
3. No Experience of Such Big-Scale Exam Before Although Sec 1 students have taken several tests, the EOY exam is very different. It has about twice the number of questions and twice the duration of earlier weighted assessments. Students have not faced such a long exam in secondary school before.
Weighted Assessment EOY Exam
To help students check their progress and plan their studies for the next two months, we will hold an EOY Mock Exam on September 14. This exam is designed to address the challenges mentioned above.
Our mock exam includes the following features to help address the issues mentioned above:
1. Paper Matches EOY Exam Style Our mock exam is designed based on past papers from Singapore schools to closely match the style of real EOY exams. 2.
