GEP Round 2 Has Just Ended! Livestream Recap: Paper Analysis and Future Pathways
The GEP Round 2 exam has just concluded today, marking the end of an intense and rewarding journey for many students! This evening from 6:30–7:30PM, Tr. Boqian held a YouTube Live with an in-depth analysis of this year's Round 2 paper.
Before the livestream, Tr. Boqian devoted himself fully to preparation: analysing the questions, comparing trends from previous years, and carefully crafting his presentation slides, all to ensure students gain the clearest insights within one short hour!
After the YouTube livestream, both parents and students thanked Teacher Boqian for the insightful session and praised his clear and easy-to-understand teaching style!
Let's take a look back at the key highlights and insights from Tr. Boqian’s livestream!
Livestream Highlights 1. Overall Insights Tr. Boqian began the session by sharing his overall observations on this year's GEP Round 2 paper.
Many students feedbacked to Tr Boqian that this year's Round 2 paper was relatively easy. The question types felt familiar and the logic was clear, with much of the content closely aligned to their regular practice and mock papers. Most students found the paper overall manageable, noting that the only real challenge was time management, as some didn't manage to finish the last few questions.
2. Comparison with Mock Exam Tr. Boqian pointed out that this year's GEP Round 2 exam was highly aligned with our mock exam, with several questions sharing very similar structures and modes of reasoning — and even some that were almost identical.
This level of overlap highlighted the accuracy and effectiveness of the mock exam’s design. By being exposed to similar question types in advance, students were able to apply familiar thinking frameworks during the actual exam and perform with greater confidence and consistency.
3. Question Explanation In the main part of the livestream, Tr. Boqian focused on five high-difficulty questions, selected as the ones that most students found confusing or challenging during the exam. He walked students step by step through the logic behind each question, highlighting key concepts and showing how to break complex problems into manageable parts. Additionally, he briefly explained the rest of the questions to further help students clarify their thought process and confirm the right problem-solving approach.
As the explanations unfolded, the chat came alive! When Tr. Boqian posed a question, the live chat instantly filled with responses.
Through active participation, the students will be able to gain a renewed understanding of the logical structures behind the questions.
What's Next? The GEP Round 2 exam may be over, but the learning journey in mathematics has only just started. Regardless of the results, the key is helping each student find the right learning path at the right stage.
To wrap up his livestream, Tr. Boqian introduced the two upcoming events Kangaroo Study designed to aid students at different stages continue improving their mathematical skills and plan their next steps post-GEP.
