Registration for the P6-S1 Kangaroo Cup Calculation Competition is now Open!
Calculation is the foundation of mastering Secondary 1 Math.
Secondary school calculations are very different from primary school ones.
90% of S1 students struggle in exams due to weak calculation skills.
Want to join an event that helps your child strengthen their calculation ability?
Then don’t miss the Kangaroo Cup Calculation Competition!
The competition paper is divided into three main sections:
1. Primary Calculation Foundation Check
This section assesses how well students have mastered calculation skills learned in primary school. It includes operations with integers, decimals, and fractions — addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
2. Secondary Calculation Application
In this section, students will first read a short note introducing new secondary-level symbols: the negative sign, powers, roots, and absolute values. After understanding the material, they will immediately apply these new concepts to solve related problems.
3. Advanced Calculation Techniques
This final section evaluates students’ understanding and mastery of special calculation techniques. Some of the problems will be quite challenging and designed to stretch their thinking.
