Quick Recap of Our Recent SMO Junior Mock Exam
The 2025 Singapore Mathematical Olympiad (SMO) Junior Round 1 is just around the corner!
To help students prepare for this high-stakes competition, Kangaroo Study organised a free SMO mock exam over the weekend. This gave students the chance to experience the exam conditions, build time awareness, and clarify their final revision strategy.
What is SMO and Why Is It Important? The Singapore Mathematical Olympiad (SMO) is one of the most prestigious math competitions in Singapore, organised by the Singapore Mathematical Society.
It tests not just content knowledge, but also logical reasoning, problem-solving, and creativity. Why Hold a Mock Exam? “My child seems okay at home, but can they perform under pressure?” “They’ve done tons of worksheets, but are they still losing marks in key areas?” “Only 1 month left, what should we actually focus on now?”
This mock exam was designed to answer exactly these questions.
Students who took part were able to: Experience real exam conditions and practise time management Identify weak spots and error patterns by question type Receive a personalised performance report with targeted feedback Attend a free follow-up lesson to analyse key questions, common mistakes, and final strategies
The paper was carefully crafted by our teaching team based on past SMO Junior Round 1 formats, ensuring the difficulty and structure matched the actual exam. Mock Exam Day Recap Tr Wenlong & Tr Jeremiah conducted a detailed briefing for all teaching assistants to ensure fair, standardised supervision. Set up classrooms

Reports will be sent to parents by Tuesday next week.
We will also hold a free online review session, at 6:30-8:00PM, 17/05/2025 (Saturday), where teachers will walk through key problems, tricky questions, and last-minute revision tips.
