More Than a Test—It’s a Real Teaching Experience
At Kangaroo.Study, we believe the purpose of an Entrance Test is not just to “assess” a child. More importantly, it’s about letting families experience our teaching first-hand—from the way we explain concepts to the way we develop students' logical thinking skills.
Earlier this week, a full 2-hour Entrance Test session unfolded at our centre. Let’s take you inside the experience!
What Happens During the Entrance Test?
Pre-Test Conversation with Parents
Before the test, our teachers speak one-on-one with parents to understand the child’s learning habits, personality, and academic history. We also share classroom videos or photos, so both parent and child can get a feel for our teaching style ahead of time.
3:00 PM Test Briefing
Teachers explain the rules clearly and help students relax, encouraging them to treat the test as a fun challenge, not something stressful.
3:00 – 3:40 PM Entrance Test Paper
Students take a specially designed paper that combines school curriculum content with logic-based extension problems. It assesses conceptual understanding, arithmetic accuracy, and reasoning skills. While students are testing, parents are introduced to Kangaroo.Study’s curriculum structure and teaching philosophy.
3:40 – 5:00 PM Live Marking + Teaching
The teacher marks the paper immediately and works through key questions with the student—focusing not just on correct answers, but helping the child think step-by-step through their mistakes. This session lets both student and parent truly feel what a “clear and effective” Kangaroo.Study lesson is like.
Post-Test Feedback + Homework
After the session, teachers share detailed feedback with parents, recommend the most suitable class, and provide tailored learning suggestions. Students are also given a small homework set to reinforce key concepts from the session.
