Meet Our New Teachers at Kangaroo.Study! This month, we’re thrilled to welcome three passionate and experienced teachers to the Kangaroo.Study teaching team! With diverse educational backgrounds and teaching journeys, they all share one thing in common: a deep love for education, a strong focus on understanding, and a commitment to walking alongside every student. These new additions will inspire more young learners to explore the logic, beauty, and challenge of mathematics. Let’s get to know them better! Teacher Zhang Boqian
Tr. Zhang began his academic journey in Changchun, Jilin, China. At age 16, he ranked 1st in the city’s high school entrance exam, earning a full scholarship to Raffles Institution, one of Singapore’s top junior colleges. He later graduated from the National University of Singapore, and has since called Singapore his second home for 15 years.
Tr. Zhang is passionate about math and has won multiple national and international awards, including: Gold medalist – Hua Luogeng Math Cup Full score – AMC8 (American Mathematics Competition) Top 1% – AMC10/12, with invitation to AIME (American Invitational Mathematics Exam)
With over 6 years of experience teaching in Singapore, Tr. Zhang has guided many students to gold awards in competitions such as NMOS, APMOPS, and RMO, and is deeply familiar with the local curriculum and contest system.
Tr. Zhang’s teaching beliefs: Curiosity drives learning: The first goal is to spark a genuine love for math. Deep understanding matters: Not just “how to solve,” but “why it works.” Good habits build excellence: From timely corrections to consistent reviews. Competitions build thinking: They develop logic, resilience, creativity, and more.
Teacher Yi Jie
Graduated from Universiti Sains Malaysia with a major in Applied Statistics, Tr.Yi Jie has two years of teaching experience. His teaching is structured, logical, and highly student-centered. He excels at making abstract ideas concrete, and difficult questions easy to understand. In his classes, students are encouraged to ask questions, think critically, and build learning confidence step by step. Tr.Yi Jie is known for his calm, approachable manner and clear explanations. Parents have given positive feedback after his open class, especially praising his ability to engage students and break down complex concepts. Teacher Pamelyn Born and raised in Singapore, Tr. Pamelyn has a deep understanding of the local school system and curriculum expectations. She holds a degree in Mathematical Sciences from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and has more than two years of teaching experience.
She believes “understanding comes first”—and helps students build clarity and confidence through step-by-step guidance. Her lessons are interactive, encouraging, and always student-focused, helping students go from “ I don’t get it” to “ I can do it!”
Even students who once struggled with or disliked math have found new confidence and enjoyment in her classes. Her gentle and clear teaching style makes her a favorite among many learners. At Kangaroo.Study, we believe: ✔ Great teaching is not just about covering the syllabus — it’s about helping students truly understand, apply, and think. ✔ Great teachers don’t just solve problems — they inspire curiosity and spark growth. We’re excited to welcome these three passionate educators to our team and look forward to seeing the incredible impact they’ll have on our students in the future!
