P4 Geometry Challenge — Event Recap
In the NMOS exam, Geometry makes up nearly 19% of the paper — one of the most important topics for students to master. To help our P4 students strengthen their concepts and improve problem-solving skills, Kangaroo Study held a fun and competitive Geometry Challenge on Sunday, 2 November, 3:00 PM.
Event Highlights
2:30 PM – Registration
Students and parents started arriving early. Our teachers were all set, guiding the children to sign in and settle down before the competition began.
3:00 PM – Challenge begins!
Once the papers were distributed, the classroom turned quiet — everyone focused on the one-hour Geometry challenge!
4:00 PM – Marking on the spot
Teachers got down to marking immediately right after the test. All scripts were graded on-site to ensure fairness and accuracy.
4:40 PM – Award Ceremony
Hosted by Teacher Smith, with an opening speech by Teacher Zhang Tao, Head of Lower Primary.
He reminded students that “Geometry is not only useful, but also important,” and encouraged them to continue exploring the joy of mathematics and challenging themselves in their learning journey.
Teachers then presented certificates and prizes — Honourable Mention, Third, Second, and First Prizes — celebrating every student’s effort and progress. The children were beaming with pride as parents applauded and took photos.
Each family also received Kangaroo Study’s P4 Year-End Holiday & Semester 1 Study Plan, filled with useful learning tips and schedules.
What’s Next
Through this challenge, students gained confidence, improved their problem-solving skills, and built a stronger love for maths.
Paper Analysis & Open Class
Our teachers will message parents individually with results and analysis by 11:55 PM on 5 November.
We’ll also be conducting a free Open class covering common mistakes and tricky questions from the competition.
