Kangaroo Study P5 June Holiday & Semester2 Enrolment Guide This year, our current P5 students will face their first high-difficulty, large scaled Math Olympiad competition - NMOS, with some also participating in RMO and APMOPS. These competitions serve as crucial platforms for students to validate their learning and showcase their abilities, while also providing significant advantages for DSA applications. Notably, students selected for the IMSO national team can even receive direct offers from NUSH. To prepare, students must systematically complete their Math Olympiad knowledge points, aligning their studies more closely with such competition content as well as difficulty levels, thereby enhancing their competitiveness in these prestigious contests. 1. How to Prepare? (1)NMOS Preparation With the NMOS competition approaching on July 14th, the June holiday period is the most critical time for students to solidify their foundation. Our curriculum is shifting from introducing new knowledge to Full-Module Mastery. While the previous terms focused on learning individual concepts, the holiday program is designed to integrate these skills and prepare students for competition-level difficulty. (2)The Two Most Difficult Primary School Math Olympiads: RMO and APMOPS are coming soon After the conclusion of NMOS, next year's RMO and APMOPS (taking place in April) are approaching. To seize this final opportunity to win a competition award and gain an advantage for DSA (Direct School Admission), the next six months are undoubtedly the most critical period. As RMO and APMOPS are widely recognized as the two most difficult competitions, early preparation and reinforcement are essential. Difficulty 1: Broader Scope of Topics RMO and APMOPS are Math Olympiads specifically designed for P6 students. Therefore, compared to NMOS, they cover significantly more knowledge points. For example, they involve topics like circles and sectors, as well as complex remainder problems in Number Theory. These topics are brand new to many children, so they must continue learning new content to better cope with these broad-scope competitions. Difficulty 2: Greater Depth of Familiar Topics Many knowledge points already covered in NMOS will reappear in RMO and APMOPS, but this does not mean students can let their guard down.
Through this comparison, we can clearly see that RMO and APMOPS test the same knowledge points with much greater depth and difficulty. Therefore, students need to engage in deeper-level study of the knowledge they have already mastered to effectively meet the challenges of these two competitions.
2. Our Curriculum Revision for 7 core modules for the preparation of NMOS. During these holiday sessions, we are transitioning from learning new knowledge points to a Comprehensive Module Revision Phase. Our goal is to ensure students can fully integrate the advanced concepts taught previously and apply them with precision under exam conditions. Specifically, we will focus on: · Systematic Consolidation: We will conduct a deep-dive into the core modules, including Word Problems, Calculation, Geometry, and Number Theory, to ensure every student has a robust and complete knowledge system. · Advanced Application: We will revisit and strengthen high-frequency advanced topics—such as the Butterfly and Swallowtail models in Geometry and Meeting & Catch-up in Distance Problems—ensuring students can solve complex, multi-step problems that typically appear at the highest levels of competition. · Bridge to Mastery: Through targeted practice in Counting and Logic-based Optimization, we aim to turn theoretical knowledge into flexible, problem-solving intuition. Prepare for RMO and APMOPS from the levels of knowledge and thinking.
Semester 2 learning will be more specifically targeted toward the RMO and APMOPS at the start of P6. We will gradually learn new knowledge points from these two competitions that children haven't encountered, such as integer decomposition in calculation, circles and sectors in geometry, variable distance problems, and multiple meeting/catch-up problems in distance problems. These are common test points in RMO and APMOPS. These topics are not only new but also difficult; they involve testing mathematical thinking, such as constant difference, extreme cases, and inductive reasoning. Therefore, Semester 2 will focus on cultivating mathematical thinking—such as approaching extremum problems in number puzzle from an extreme perspective—to improve students' ability to analyze complex problems so they no longer feel helpless when facing new, difficult questions.

Tr. Pun Yi Jie (Lesson in English) Graduated from Universiti Sains Malaysia with a major in Applied Statistics, Teacher Yi Jie brings both strong subject knowledge and a deep passion for teaching. With two years of experience, he has a unique ability to break down complex ideas and turn them into something relatable for students. His calm, encouraging teaching style helps students feel safe to ask questions, try new things, and develop a genuine love for learning.

Graduated from Wuhan University. Familiar with the Olympiad mathematics system and major competition proposition rules.
In 2023, among the first batch of students in Singapore, 10 students from S1 successfully entered the SMO Junior group's R2 (a total of 106 students from S1&S2 in total). At the same time, some students successfully joined the Junior Training Team.
In 2024, 13 students from the non-exploration class entered the SMO Junior group second round, 6 won gold medals, and 3 entered the Junior Training Team.
In 2025, 13 students from non-exploration classes entered the SMO Junior R2, and 4 students entered the Junior Training Team. 9 elementary school students won RMO HD, 4 students won APMOPS Platinum, and 80% of P5 students won NMOS Gold.

6. Enrollment Notes Priority Enrollment for Current Students From March 6th, 5:00 PM the system will auto-generate orders for both the June Holiday & Semester 2 courses for current students. They can confirm by paying within the priority period: March 6th (Fri) 5:00 PM – March 15 (Sun) 11:59 PM. New Student Enrollment Students must first take a diagnostic test to determine the appropriate class level.
