Highlights of Teacher Smith’s Open Class on 'Painting Problems'

In our previous article, we highlighted the challenges students face with the limited revision time during the holiday season and emphasized the importance of focusing on key topics like Area and Volume, Fractions, Ratio & Percentage, and Geometry. These three high-weightage and challenging areas demand early attention to ensure success.

To help students better master the module of Area and Volume, Teacher Smith conducted a free open class on the topic “Painting Problems” today. This session, focused on just one of the key topics within the Area and Volume module, was designed to equip students with a deeper understanding during the holiday season, ensuring they are well-prepared for the upcoming academic demands. The open class adhered to Kangaroo.study's core teaching principles: 1) Guiding, Not Pushing; 2) Without Understanding, No Leaving; 3) Sense of Achievement.

Teacher Smith stayed after class to clear students’ doubts and guide them through their corrections for the after-class test before they left

An after-class test assesses students' understanding of the material covered in the lesson. It helps reinforce learning by allowing immediate review and correction. Based on the results, the teacher can identify areas where students need more support and provide guidance to ensure full comprehension. We ensure that students fully understand the topic before leaving, offering additional support as needed to guarantee mastery of the concepts.

In our courses, we also have a pre-class test. These tests review the previous lesson’s content, helping students solidify their understanding. The results allow the teacher to identify strengths and weaknesses, enabling adjustments in the next lesson to improve learning.
