WA2 Revision Guide: Ace Your WA2 in Just 1 Lesson Why does theWA2 score best reflect how well a child is learning algebra? What are themain focuses and challenges in the WA2 algebra questions? In just over two weeks, most schools will start their WA2 exams. WA1 usually focuses on the first three chapters of the textbook, mainly covering factors & multiples and real number calculations. For WA2, Chapter 4 - Basic Algebra and Algebraic Manipulation makes up over 60% of the exam. Our teachers have analyzed the algebra topics in WA2 and summarized the key points in the table below. Many students get confused with complex simplification and factorisation due to a lack of understanding. The challenging WA2 questions below are common areas where mistakes often occur.
Another challenge in WA2 is forming equations fromword problems. In primary school, students use models, but in secondary school, problems like the one below can't be solved this way. Students must write equations directly, which many find difficult. To help students tackle these three key topics—especially complex simplification, factorisation, and algebra word problems—we’ve prepared a free workshop. This session will help you review and summarise the common WA2 question types related to these areas.
