Class Started Today! First Session of NMOS 2021–2024 Past Year Paper Revision Course Begins
With the NMOS exam happening on 15 July, many students have now entered the final sprint of their preparation.
To help students systematically revise key question types and better understand the recurring patterns in past NMOS papers, Kangaroo Study has launched the NMOS 2021–2024 Past Year Paper Revision Course.
Class Highlights
The first session officially started this morning.
This course is taught by Teacher Yu Xian, and will run over three days. It covers 6 past year NMOS papers from 2021 to 2024 (2024, 2023 Round 1 and 2, 2022 Round 1 and 2, 2021 Round 1), with a primary focus on Round 2 questions. Some of the more challenging Round 1 questions are also included, especially those that students often find difficult to tackle on their own.
Each question is carefully broken down and explained in detail to help students strengthen their understanding of high-difficulty concepts.
To let parents experience the classroom environment, we have recorded a 5-minute classroom video. Step into the session and see how Teacher Yu Xian delivers complex questions in a clear, structured and engaging manner — encouraging students to think critically and express themselves with confidence.

Both students and parents were highly engaged throughout the session, with students actively participating and taking detailed notes, while Teacher Yu Xian ensured everyone left with a clear understanding of the material.
Upcoming Semester 2 Class
This Past Year Paper Revision Course is being conducted in three period, and all slots are currently full. Registration is now closed. Next, we invite parents to look forward to our Semester 2 Class, officially starting in July 4th.
As we move into Semester 2, our curriculum will begin transitioning towards more advanced topics relevant to RMO and APMOPS, both of which take place in early Primary 6. Students will be introduced to new and more complex areas such as fraction decomposition, circles and sectors, travel problems with changing speeds, and multiple catching-up or meeting-up problems, topics that demand stronger logical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
To support this progression, Semester 2 classes will place greater emphasis on building students’ analytical thinking. For example, in tackling number puzzles, students will learn to apply strategies such as extreme case analysis, helping them approach unfamiliar or non-routine problems with confidence and independence.
Our Teaching Team
Tr. Gao Xuming
Graduated from Wuhan University, Teacher Gao is an S-level (highest level) teacher at Fangtian Education and also the head of the secondary school department. Familiar with the Olympiad mathematics system and an in-depth understanding of major domestic and international competitions, over ten of the students under his guidance have won the Yingchun Cup Gold Award (equivalent to the highest award in RMO).
In the first year in Singapore, 10 students under his guidance smoothly entered the second round of the SMO Junior (a total of 106 students from the first and second years nationwide entered the second round). At the same time, some students successfully joined the Junior Training Team.
Tr. Yu Xian
Graduated with a major in Data Science and Analytics (BSc. Hons) from the National University of Singapore. Teacher Yu Xian has 7+ years of experience in teaching Maths and Sciences. An ASEAN Scholarship holder and Math Olympiad awardee, he has earned accolades such as SMO Silver and AMC Gold.
Currently serving as Kangaroo Study’s P5 InCharge, he specializes in guiding students in Math Olympiad preparation through encouraging curiosity and independent thinking.
