Teacher Pamelyn’s first P5 PSLE Class: Leading You to Master Problem-solving Thinking!

This Friday, Kangaroo Study kicked off the very first class of Teacher Pamelyn’s P5 PSLE course.

1. Lesson Walkthrough

     

This week’s lesson began with a brief overview of classroom expectations, shared with both students and parents, setting a positive tone for the term ahead.

   

From the very start, students were actively engaged and responded enthusiastically to Tr Pamelyn’s dynamic and hands-on teaching approach. With thoughtfully prepared worksheets, the session encouraged students to tackle complex problems with clarity, confidence, and critical thinking.   

     
Questions prepared by Tr. Pamelyn not only inspired everyone’s enthusiasm for thinking but also guided the students to courageously tackle various challenging problems with clear reasoning, confident attitudes, and critical thinking.
     

      

After the class test ended, a small number of students took the initiative to ask Tr. Pamelyn questions about the concepts they found challenging. Seizing this opportunity, the teacher gave detailed explanations of the commonly confused topics and conducted an in-depth analysis of shared difficulties, helping them to further grasp the key knowledge points.

      

      

2. About the Teacher

   

Tr. Pamelyn graduated from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), majoring in Mathematical Sciences. With over two years of teaching experience, she firmly believes in the "understand first, then practice" approach. She excels at breaking down complex problems and clearly explaining key concepts, guiding students step-by-step from "I don't understand" to "I can solve this." In class, she actively encourages students to ask questions and share their thoughts, helping them gradually build confidence and logical thinking skills.

     

3. Parent Feedback

     

After the class, many parents shared that Tr. Pamelyn’s explanations were clear, and their children could understand and solve the problems effectively. Some also highlighted the positive classroom environment and mentioned that their children really liked Tr. Pamelyn and were looking forward to joining her future classes.

4. Class Syllabus

   

Our syllabus has a comprehensive coverage of the challenging points in PSLE.

> Lesson 2 will focus on fractions problems in the PSLE exam, ensuring a solid foundation in key concepts.

> Lessons 1, 4, and 6 will cover the eight major application problems.

> In addition, based on analysis of exam conditions, we also include expanded sections on pattern recognition, and geometric area to ensure mastery of all tested content.   

We also incorporate structured review practices into our teaching methodology to help students develop effective revision habits.
