Singapore’s First P6–S1 Secondary Math Adaptability Test Now Open for Registration
Why do PSLE Math AL1 students see a big drop in grades in secondary? What foundations, habits, and methods should be built before entering S1? Is my child suited for math competitions, and how to prepare? One test gives you the answers!
After last year’s PSLE, we held a free diagnostic test with over 100 students to assess secondary readiness and competition potential. This year, the test is upgraded!
Before introducing this year’s test, let’s take a look at the positive feedback we received from parents and students after last year’s exam!
Last year, our exam used modular papers to assess each child’s abilities and provided a personalized analysis report. This year, we’ve added new features to the test!
1.1 One Test, Two Options This exam will be divided into two options, and students can choose one of them to take.
1.2 Comprehensive Report with Modular Diagnosis After the test, each student will get a personalized report analyzing their results according to the chosen option and test modules. We will also give tips on habits like handwriting and answering habits to help students understand their strengths and weaknesses in habits that are often more important than knowledge.
1.3 Not Just a Test, but Matching the Right Class Pace Kangaroo Study’s secondary courses start in the 2025 year-end holidays, including Cultivation, Enhancement, Innovation, Inspiration, and Exploration Classes. Inspiration and Exploration focus on math competitions, while Cultivation, Enhancement, Innovation strengthen school and O&A-Level math. The “Preview + Extension” approach builds strong basics and extends learning to fully develop students’ potential.
The results of this test will serve as the admission basis for new students and the promotion basis for current students. We will recommend the most suitable class for each student based on their test results. Students wanting Kangaroo Olympiad courses (Inspiration or Exploration) must take Option 2 and meet the required score.
2 Course Introduction 2.1 Cultivation, Enhancement, Innovation Kangaroo’s Cultivation, Enhancement, Innovation Classes help students excel in school and prepare for difficulty spikes through exposure to Math Olympiad content. Here are some good results shared by students and parents.
Currently, 80% of our students have achieved an A1 in their Secondary 1 school exams! 2.2 Inspiration, Exploration Kangaroo’s Inspiration and Exploration Classes focus on secondary math competitions, and students have consistently achieved excellent results. ‣ 2023 – First batch in SMO (Junior): 10 Exploration Class students took the exam; all advanced to Round 2, won gold medals, 6 reached Top 30, 4 reached Top 10, and 5 joined the Junior Training Team for the first time. ‣ 2024 – Second batch in SMO (Junior): Kangaroo students who attended SMO Junior were less than 1.5% nationally.
