Nearly 600 Students Took Part! Kangaroo Study’s Spring Cup Math Olympiad 2026 Wrapped Up Successfully
The annual Spring Cup is back!! On 28 February, the 2026 Spring Cup was held at Kangaroo Study’s brand-new KAP campus.
This year’s competition was a massive success, attracting nearly 600 students ranging from P1 all the way to Sec 3. The event was split into three sessions to accommodate the overwhelming response. It was heartening to see students from different levels coming together, creating a focused and high-energy atmosphere!
Let’s take a look back at the highlights of the day.
1. Live from the Venue
The excitement was palpable from early morning as students and parents began arriving. Everything moved smoothly, from checking entry proofs to the final ushering into the classrooms. You could feel a mix of nerves and anticipation — for many, this was a true training ground to see where they stand.

As the papers were distributed, a hush fell over the classrooms. The only sound left was the scratching of pens on paper. It was truly inspiring to see every student so deeply focused and giving their absolute best to every problem.

2. Why the Spring Cup Matters
Founded in Beijing in 1984 by the Education Bureau and the Mathematical Society, the Spring Cup is famous for its original questions and its ability to test the depth of thinking. Since Kangaroo Study brought the Spring Cup to Singapore in 2023, it has quickly become a key milestone in the local academic calendar. Held at the beginning of the year, it serves as a "health check" for students before they gear up for more advanced competitions later in the season.

Covering P1 to Secondary Advanced, 2026 SCMO papers were specially curated for P1–S3 students. The questions remained true to the tradition of being original and rigorous — covering core syllabus modules while challenging students on logic and structure.
What this means for different levels:
Lower Primary (P1 – P3): A great way to build number sense and confidence while getting a first taste of "Olympiad-style" thinking.
Upper Primary (P4 – P6): A crucial "positioning test" before the three main Math Olympiads (NMOS, RMO, and APMOPS), helping them identify gaps in their framework.
Secondary (Sec 1 – Sec 3): And for the Secondary category, it is split into two tracks — Junior and Advanced. The difficulty levels are benchmarked respectively against SMO Junior Round 1, and SMO Senior / Open, giving students a chance to measure themselves against competition standards, and to test and sharpen their skills.
Regardless of the level, every student walked away with valuable experience in a real exam environment.
3. Post-Exam Reflections
Once the papers were collected, the campus was buzzing again!
Students were seen exiting the rooms, immediately huddling with friends to discuss the toughest questions.

Meanwhile, many parents were also catching up, sharing their own experiences.

At Kangaroo Study, our philosophy is simple:
A competition doesn't define a child. Instead, it helps them see themselves more clearly — recognizing their strengths, acknowledging their weaknesses, and identifying the next step for growth.
As long as they gave it their 100%, the experience is already a win!
4. What’s Next? Results & Support
The results for the Spring Cup will be released around mid-March. We will announce details for the Awards Ceremony at the same time, so please keep an eye out for our updates!
Beyond the competition itself, we are committed to helping your child grow. Every participant will receive:
A Personalized Diagnostic Report: To help you see exactly where your child’s strengths and gaps lie.
Free Review Classes: Our teachers will systematically deconstruct the most challenging questions and share problem-solving strategies.
To sign up for FREE review classes, pls scan the QR code below to join our study group chat, and stayed tuned for further notice!
We want every student to walk away not just with a result, but with the power to improve further.
A huge thank you to all our participants for your hard work, and to the parents for your constant support and trust. We look forward to seeing you at the next one — even more confident and ready for the challenge!!
